Love it watched it 3 times, but The Originals is better
The Originals is a spin off of TVD, basically the villians of Season 2 and 3 are so popular they made their own show and become the main characters of their own show.
TVD was great in the earlier seasons if I being honest S2 and S3 were probably the best, then it starts to become less good. That's why you can move on to The Originals because it's more about power and family, rather than teen drama

I adore the book series to this day, I used to love the show a LOT but then I rewatched it recently and the show is CRINGEEEEEEE

first three seasons were GREAT, and then it went downhill. the introduction of sire bond ruined the show (i cannot believe i remembered this lol). adding the original family and making them regulars were a+ dessision, at some point i cared more about elijah, klaus, and rebekah than for the mains.
you cannot watch a show without shipping, right? : D at first i shipped delena but ended up shipping stelena. or maybe i was just a fan of stefan? i also shipped klaroline
didn't watch the originals because i got tired of the universe but i heard it was great.
