It’s still a bop til this day
Months later; how do you feel about Not Shy by ITZY?

I don't listen to it much but I stream Be in Love and iD everyday. One of the best albums this year.
But yeah, in the long run I've come to prefer it over Wannabe.

Think it grew on me tbh

The "not shy, not me, itzyyyyyyyy" gets stuck in my head from time to time. In overall, I think it is a good song. I understand that some people may be off-put by the "itzy" thing, but it's something new groups do so their name gets stuck in our head. "Blackpink" in Boombayah, "Treasure" in My Treasure, "Aespa" in Black Mamba, "Mamamoo" in Mr. Ambiguous, etc.
In trial law there's a saying that once you have repeated a word/phrase/question three times in a court of law then the jury will definitely remember it.
Take a look at BP's situation where their phrase BP in your area is synonymous with Blackpink - Blinks wait eagerly to hear it on every song to the point that blinks got up in arms because Jisoo hadn't said it yet until Pretty Savage.
So I can't remember how many times the phrase was said in NS but constant repeating of one's group name is huge for brand recognition and image.

wasn't a fan of the main synth. vocal melody was bland. also, someone else said the 'itzyyy' was annoying and i agree. after wannabe, it leaves a weird taste. i look forward to their development.

It's still a bop for me. At first I kinda liked it and later I listened to it a lot but now there isn't a day I don't listen to it. Almost every part of this song is catchy af. Specially the chorus part - Ryujin's malhaebwa da eoseo da cz I'm not shy, Yeji and Yuna's not shy not me and Chaeryeong's itzyyyy are the catchiest parts. I also love the bridge part a lot, Lia snapped hard.

I still don't like it. I like most of the song but the chorus was the part that made me not like the song in the end. I still prefer Wannabe.
2020 was that year in which most of the chorus of my faves didn't hit me like they normally do. -
It got better with each listen, the dance became even more catchy and fun to do even tho I can’t dance
-
liked it off 1st listen, loved it after more listens. It felt like a new taste of their particular style, in the pocket but still vibrant + strong. Also the chorus is one of those moments where i feel unapologetically compelled to chant + shake a lil something. its good times.

I enjoy it way more than Wannabe, it feels more entertaining?? I don’t how to explain it. But yeah, maybe this was my fav era music wise, B-Sides were cool and Surf is a bop
