Iโm just glad that peeps are finally having some sense beat into them. Iโve been saying for literally years that itโs ridiculous to call those so-called 4th gens groups 4th gens just bc their fans want their faves to have some notable achievements since they canโt stack up to 3rd genโs. Glad to see itโs finally caught on

It really doesnโt !! i literally had an argument with people over this since if they are considered 4th gen, then BP and NCT dream are 4th gen too
For each year people include more and more groups in the 4th gen. First 2019 because of Itzy and Txt created a new wave of rookies. After that people wanted to include 2018 since the rookies of both years compete and had a lot of collaboration with each other. Then people decided that groups that debuted late 2017 should count cuz they were nominated for the same rookie awards as 2018 groups. It just keeps spiralling lol and now some want 2016 groups to be considered 4th gen even tho it was perhaps the most iconic 3rd gen year.

literally loona has more content (music) than bp even before blackpink debuted just bc loona's company pushed back their "debut" for a year doesn't mean they are 4th gen since they have been around longer than blackpink. They had sub-units and solo stuff before their "official"debut.
For example, from from_9 were formed in 2017 and literally released a single the same year and promoted it on multiple music shows and only their album was released a couple months later in january 2018. I know some people don't consider them 4th but some people do think they are 4th gen. Well, in that case rv debuted in 2015 (not 2014) their mini album came out next year. So many things don't make sense tbh.
OMG Thank you!! I literally made a long rant thread about this. Most 2018 groups are 100% 3rd gen no matter how you wanna twist it. Loona and Fromis_9 are the perfect examples. They are in no way 4th gen just as you say!
