I think they've nothing more to prove because they already did a LOT. I honestly think that they're already at a high level enough of a status that even if they dont make hits anymore, they're still an IT girl group. They've already left their mark in k-pop landscape.

it seems like an ongoing trend to top GGs when they aren't on their peaks anymore. Like fans are left to defend them from ppl calling them basically 'old news'. I've seen it on SNSD, SISTAR, etc. and i'm seeing it on Twice rn. Not just even at AKP. It's a mess all throughout.

Agreed. It's like imagine you get 100% on a test once, and then next time even if you get a 99% and still get called a flop by your classmates.
