Twice Alcohol Free Review

    here's a review of alcohol free from an ex-once (preferred their cute style, and eventually lost interest but love the girls)


    1. Voices:

    momo's voice has always been nasal and not my style, but i love sana/mina/tzuyus/jeongs vocal color sooooo much. nayeon's voice sounded really pretty in icsm but it really really annoyed me in alcohol free and i feel bad that i feel this way but i cant help it. jihyos voice always sticks out because of the way she sings and i felt like she was out of place in alcohol free, singing deep and strong in a chill song... ofc this is debatable.

    solid 5/10, did not suit the main vocalists' vocal color


    2. Vibes:

    icsm was a bop and thats what i hoped from them. no more m&m and alcohol-free type songs please. i wish twice took a missa direction instead... But the vibes for this song are great, a downgrade from icsm but still amazing.

    amazing 10/10


    3. choreography:

    it was ok, but kind of weird in some places but the straight lines were beautiful and i did love a good part of it. twice are amazing dancers so they obv pulled it off.

    great 8/10, could be better and some hand movements were straight up ugly


    4. lyrics:

    either this was badly translated into english or the song has pretty crappy lyrics. waiting for the japanese ver so i can actually understand the lyrics. the chorus listing out random drinks was a terrible decision and jyp should self reflect.

    1/10 is it the translation or was jyp drunk writing this?


    5. Melody/Music:

    the background music has vibessssssss, the beat couldve gone harder in the chorus but i can hear this playing at a tropical bar so it's really pretty. will make excellent elevator music in the future.

    7/10 vibe or elevator music, bop nonetheless.


    6. outfits:

    sweet mother of god i HATE these outfits. at least they suit the concept but theyre like really really really bland i apologise.

    5/10 at least they fit the concept.


    overall:

    36/60 ---> 60%

    upper range blop.

    not icsm level but not nearly as bad as the mess m&m is


    twice's best song is tbtied and no one can change my mind.

    I love twice and I get what they were going for but


    for the vibes I'd give them a 8/10.. for building such great visuals and all the auditory cliques of a bright, bubbly, and happy song....it ended up being rather flat. Its like--


    I'm trying to sound happy and be the life of the party--but was depressed. That kinda flat.


    --I wonder how the music production went, tbh.


    8/10 on the outfits though-- they really did look good, despite not being that eye-catching.


    Otherwise I 100% agree with your assessment...

    I would've given that a 6/10 but other than I agree. Personally, I kind of liked the listing out drinks part. It was comparing their lover to a drink and how it makes them feel.

    honestly i would love to strangle talk to whoever wrote those lyrics

    the listing out the drinks felt kind of like they couldnt think of anything so just added their shopping list there...

    I actually don't agree with some of your points, but I respect your opinion. At the end of the day, they are everyone's tastes.

    I love the vibes and the choreo. I like the concept and the song because it's a new thing for them.

    The vocals, I love how they are switching to this kind of music bc they can sing anything. I actually loved 3mix's vocals in this song.

    I also think the outfits are cool. Very "chill", the outfits are kinda similar to the DTNA outfits, which are lovely. I MUCH prefer DTNA outfits to M&M outfits.

    Ooh, that's cool! I didn't know what a mimosa was until I heard the song lmao but I always thought of it as a reference to a sauce after I heard the MiMoSa ship name.
