How do you decide your race when you are mixed?

That makes sense, it just always feels like people want you to say you are either white or black or asian

I'm mixed but I usually just say I'm black cause it's what I look like the most

I still identify as both white and Indian, but I usually say I'm Indian when asked about my race. I guess I just identify more with that side.

Well Somalis think I’m Asian, Koreans think I’m Indian/Arab because they have a scewed perception of how black people should look, and most Somalis don’t fit that, so it takes a lot of explanation. Then it becomes more annoying because now to Them I’m Half Korean Half

I look like both, people can tell I’m mixed or they assume I’m Latino/Arab. But I’m neither so the whole going by what you look doesn’t work for me.
Therefore I’m a mixed person who’s half kimchi half pirate.

Maybe just go by phenotype. If you look X and you are just 1/8 or less from Y, you could just name yourself X. Unless you are from a very insular ethnicity, everyone has someone from a different race down the line. Where is the threshold? Grand parent? Grand grand parent?
Idea of human race varied through ages and places. If you go to a place like Brazil, their definition of race is very different from USA. There you can just say white and be done with. There is no idea like one-drop rule there. Every place will define race differently. Might as well just go with your individual gut feeling. It is as valid as any view of race.
