Let’s talk about how kpop fans change the standard of a hit song base on if they like or not the artist

I think what ultimately makes a song a hit is if we like it or not. It's personal.

Agreed, i hate success stans.

The first is not my problem but literally how kpop stans act. I don’t care if I like the song or not if it has the numbers it has the numbers.
Second I’m not assuming anything it is just an example of what happen often and let’s not act like people don’t fight over SOTY not as an opinion but as a proven fact even tho the song has no chances to win.
-
It’s just about overall situations I see often here. Calling a song a hit and other with higher numbers somehow is not big.

I feel like at this point it is just trolling depending on certain groups
Like a tradition
For new groups though it could be some non-fans trying to gatekeep the top when feeling threatened a new 'potential rival' appears
Edit: not only a kpop thing, but you see that with top artist in general, just look at twitter fans trashing and downplaying each other constantly
It is a harsh industry after all, fans/consumers can be pretty vicious (especially with an oversaturated market/industry)

That's because being considered Song of the Year is an opinion. Even when it's at an award show, that's still given on the basis of someone's opinion. There no single definitive ranking of what makes something SOTY for someone.

That’s easy. People want their faves to thrive or look good and will always be biased and give different standards to them
