I think what some people always fail to understand about (G)I-DLE is that Cube doesn't have to give them anything. They can do it themselves. Half the members are songwriters in their own rights. Soyeon among all must be sitting on huge pile of unreleased songs. So it's only obvious for her to release some solo material in a time when (G)I-DLE can't promote as a group. If anything, Yuqi's solo debut was more unexpected. When it comes to Soyeon though, the writing was on the wall since day one.
So if we could stop this doomsday narrative about (G)I-DLE disbanding, everyone going solo, getting the "CLC treatment" and all that jazz, it would be great because it's getting a little bit ridiculous.
