I know people like to push the narrative that it's all "trolling" if someone says companies copy formulas from past or current groups. But those who are aware and honest know this is the truth to various levels. We all know kpop was born by taking A LOT of inspiration from western bands, jpop, and black culture.
The trend these days is to talk about BPink as if they were some kind of originators, but is anyone forgetting them?
Or them?
Or them?
Fact is your biases didn't invent shit and ain't own shit in terms of a cultural revolution. The "glamour fierce/bad b***tch/pretty savage kween" shit has been done for decades. Everyone in the for-profit entertainment industry is just regurgitating and constantly taking references from others. And yes, it's true some kpop companies are taking cues from BPink, because they want their global popularity. But they are just another rebrand of another rebrand, if we're being completely honest.
