A lot of times people here say that it shouldn't be based on numbers and charts.
You said that some even charted bad but charting is definitely not the be all and end all at the Grammys, your album or song can spend a week on the chart and you can still be nominated in a main category.

Well wbk the grammys aren't the best but seeing how some clowns love to cry about how award shows are just a popularity contest atp because they're based on numbers and they should be based on quality, I'd love to see other korean award shows other than the KMAs to give awards strictly based on the critics lol. 
I'm sure some will quickly change their narrative when that happens because their idols won't get an award despite having the sales.

Anyway I am also confused to see yummy out of all the songs being nominated lol but that's grammys for you.
The Grammys have always been like that, and I've barely paid attention to them over the past few years, despite being a voting member myself. There is no gauge of "expertise". Literally all that is required is to be working in the industry and have 2 people vouch for you. They are literally 100% politics, as are most award shows. A lot of people are bringing up the Weeknd, as if he's the only artist who many people think "deserved" a nomination but never got one. He probably pissed off someone (likely more than one) powerful, which is unsurprising given the kind of person he is.

I think it has done more harm than good to the industry overall. But anyway, I haven't done much looking into that specific case, as I'm not losing any sleep over it. Screw them and honestly screw The Weeknd too.

I don't have to no, haha, but I did vote this year. Even though I don't like the Grammys, I recognize its global impact, and definitely wanted to do my part to see BTS win, even if it is unlikely, as I understand the significance it would have on their career and legacy, but also just the global music industry culturally.
