In my opinion it is not really about them holding BTS to a higher standard but playing dumb and acting as if it can't be a stylistic choice and pretending it is BTS's speciality while many other groups also use all kind of vocal processing in their songs and it does not seem to be a problem.

I have grown up with hip hop music hence I guess I don't find it as annoying as some people make it out to be.

Selective outrage is the problem. I don't see autotune complaints when other group's songs have heavy use of it.

Just make up your mind. Either you complain with heavy use of it every single time or no complaints at all.

There is nothing wrong with using autotune in your studio version, it's part of the production. Absolutely every artist out there use it, especially recently with the 80's revival. Like, you might not like the way it's used ( fair enough ), but criticizing the use of autotune is stupid. This is just a tool, neither good or bad.
