Then you have 2.5 like f(x), APINK, Miss A, Girls Day, SISTAR, etc. Those who debuted late 2009ish and later.

I would say 2009/10 was really the turning point for 2nd gen because it's when you had existing label mates promote like:

SNSD and f(x)

I've always thought of Apink and AOA 2.5 gen.

And i still think that IDLE , LOONA & IZONE are 3.5 gen

You're not the first to propose a division between Generation 2 and Generation 2.5. Take a look at this AKP article from last June.

If so, then I'd call the past 1-2 years 'late 3rd gen', and not 4th gen.
