If the song is amazing then line distribution is irrelevant.

It’s still sad though..

I agree. I can see why people would be sad about it, especially if it's their favorite member, but there are main/lead positions for a reason. I actually never really paid attention to line distribution, but when it comes to screen time in MVs, I notice this more, and I think this should ideally be more or less equal.

People should look at the song as a whole product. Our main interest should what would make a song sound the best and I'm pretty sure that's the thought process of most producers while deciding on the line distribution. If an idol doesn't get "enough" lines, chances are they can't sing well or the other members sing so much better.
JYP is an exception because the look at songs and line distribution as if they were math, you get lines because you exist not because you deserve them
For example
External Content youtu.beContent embedded from external sources will not be displayed without your consent.Through the activation of external content, you agree that personal data may be transferred to third party platforms. We have provided more information on this in our privacy policy. The distribution doesn't get any fairer than this but 1:48 to 2:20 and 2:35 to 3:05...... a travesty. Which is a shame for a group that has capable singers like Yeeun and Sunye.
This would be the fate of most kpop groups if line distribution was indeed "fair"

There is this case too. At the start, some members get more parts because they are more developed. But as times goes and all of them develop it stays like that which sad but also deserved.

but some people might say that, if you only have an idol for looks or to dance, and you don´t give that idol enough lines, then you can loose him/her and fill that spot with a back up dancer.
We all know a few groups who has more than 6 members, maybe 9 or 12. And you don´t even know what for, just to have a spare of members.
Sometimes it is so unfair to the ones who carry the song, and are pretty but not pretty enough, and popularity goes to the pretty ones. And the money too.
