society ... as I was that age I was not even allowed to view a VHS if nobody put it in for me (even tho I knew how to do it myself) and I wasn't even allowed to call someone on our home-telephone and the coolest thing in electronics I was allowed was this plush-robot-dogs you could take on a walk but I wasn't allowed to walk it outside of our garden ... oh wow
