Most streamed KPop figures 2025 and the equivalent in Korea

  • Until 2021, the figures of the most viewed KPop artist in the world and in Korea did not diverge.

But, in 2022, a huge divergence occured.

BTS most viewed KPop artist in the world in 2022

The Former Owner of Edam Entertainment the most viewed KPop artist (forgetting the inconvenient fact that she is not KPop) in 2022 in Korea

So, at least in Korea, The Former Owner of Edam Entertainment became supreme.

2023 and 2024 figures are the same

BlackPink the most viewed KPop artist in the world in 2023 and 24

NewJeans the most viewed Kpop artist in Korea in 2023 and 24

With NewJeans no longer producing new songs (other than the poorly received Pit Stop) in 2025, the picture changed.

Most streamed KPop figures in Korea

    1 Day6 (not KPop)

    2 aespa

3 The Former Owner of Edam Entertainment

    4 Big Bang

    5 G Dragon

    6 IVE

    7 New Jeans

    8 Yonezu Kenshi (JPop)

    9 Roseanne Park, MBE

    10 BlackPink

BTS nowhere to be found because it did not release new songs in the last 3 years

And Yonezu Kenshi is more popular in Korea than BlackPink, and other than Day6, aespa, the Former Owner of Edam Entertainment and IVE (Big Bang/GDragon is a one shot thing and it will be a while before we see a 'new jeans' album since its status is uncertain) Mr. Yonezu is more popular than every single Korean act.

This is floating around. I cannot guarantee the veracity of this.

    1. BTS

    2. Stray Kids

3 . Jennie Kim (she is not an MBE since she is not a subject of the Commonwealth)

    4. Roseanne Park, MBE

    5. Huntr/x, all of them Americans

    6. Twice

    7. BlackPink

    8. Jungkook

    9. Enhypen

    10. Katseye , not really Kpop

It seems the Korean ears and the world ears have really diverged.

Day8, aespa, the Former Owner of Edam Entertainment, GDragon, Big Bang, New Jeans and IVE are nowhere to be found in the globla ranking!

  • It's kinda weird that NJ isn't on the Spotify global chart. I guess their fans just don't bother streaming. That's what makes NJ special anyway, they don’t just appeal to their fans, they also hit the mainstream side of kpop

But honestly, I've always cared more about Korean charts, because they reflect what everyday people in Korea are actually listening to like the real mainstream of kpop and the part that truly sits in their culture.

And I'll probably always be surprised that a kpop group hitting their 20th anniversary next year is still one of the most streamed groups in Korea, like some kind of zombie that never dies.

I’m assuming this is the full list and Nj is up there. It’s basically hard for them to hit the top 10 overall on global scale without releasing anything when they don’t even have a huge discography yet and none of the members have put out solo songs to boost group's streams.

It's unbelievable. And honestly, I can say this, people who listen to NJ aren't streaming on purpose, they actually appeal to the mainstream kpop listeners too.

Which is true since NJ does not depend upon Hybe payola and any purpose listeners are just helping BSH

    aespa hanging in the 20s

Day6, IU, IVE nowhere to be found :joy: :)

  • Call me someone who’s showing off, but Blackpink being the only figure ACT (not including Rosie) in the top 10 of both the Korean and international charts is really amazing to see.

They only released 1 song with a music video, nothing more, and yet they still managed to reach the top 10 on two different charts with completely different tastes lol.

Some people will say it was a bad year for the group, but personally, I’ve never seen their name shine as much as it did this year and back in 2020. They’ve officially entered the seniority era (I’m talking about the group), where their name alone can promote them.

It’s probably largely thanks to their solos, but as long as their names remain tied to the group, it will only make the group’s name stronger.

And for the first time, I actually agree with Rolling Stone, Blackpink girls are literally everywhere this year 🙌

  • it would have been better if they had one more single to cement their status.

Next year they will collide with BTS and at mature stage that won't help either
