Are you interested in Kpop Collection Cards? Or is it too late to do something like this?

  • You want this? 9

    1. No (4) 44%
    2. Only if we get the first 3 gens too (3) 33%
    3. Yes (2) 22%
    4. Give me all the cards (0) 0%

The old people probably remember when we were collection sport, anime, and many other cards, but imo, for Kpop this is a bit late. Also, you don't know what you'll get anyway, and it's not a real signed version either.

I think kids today spend more time on SNS than ever, so I'm not sure how many people will buy these. In the 2nd gen this would've hit big. I mean, if they can convince 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen Idols, they might have a chance but with newgens, I don't think so.

Changed the title of the thread from “Are interested in Kpop Collection Cards? Or is it too late to something like this?” to “Are you interested in Kpop Collection Cards? Or is it too late to do something like this?”.
  • Given h‍ow much people obsess over photocards, I could see something li‍ke this doing reasonably well.

Yes, but with PCs you know what you'll get, but these card collections are totally random and way more expensive too.

  • I think this is a great solution for fans to better protect the environment . A lot of people waste albums just for photocards and this is s a good solution . I feel stuff like photobooks and cards would be better to be sold separately.

It’s always shocking how much junk they include in albums. I mainly just want the cd, photobook, and cards when I purchase. So this solution isn’t a bad idea for people that want cards

I thought companies said the new albums ECO friendly now.

  • Are they? The last albums i purchased seem to be the same junk they've always been. I didn't notice any difference, but that would be nice if true.

Not sure tbh, my last album I bought was Moonbyul's "Starlit of Muse". This is what I read from companies, but it's not we can actually test it if they're lying or not.

Tbf, RBW don't put junk in their albums because they barely put anything in it anyway.😂😭

Also, now that MAMAMOO will have a cb in June, I'm saving money for the World Tour, but knowing RBdumb, they won't let them come here to Europe.😂

I bought too many albums this year ^^;( From what I've noticed it doesn't seem any different than the usual packaging. I still don't understand why they include so much of junk.

I know Purple Kiss skipped Europe. My friend wanted to see them, but they never ended up stopping there. I still don't understand companies skipping that region. At least go to the major countries like England and France that seems to have kpop fans. Then i'm sure other countries have a decent amount of kpop fans

    Oh so you're rich. 😂

Honestly, I would never pay for any PURKI related stuff. Not even concerts. Why? The answer I think is obvious. I LOVE the girls, but I'm never gonna give a single penny to RBshit anymore, and I'm not sure if I want to buy MMM's new album either. We'll see. IF they come to EU, I have to pay for that but that's all probably.

  • Older kpop fans may remember that SNSD had somethign like that with Star cards - they were also released in packs and random. Possibly other groups too, but I only know of SNSD.

I like colecting photocards but for me it would probably depend on how pricey it is, maybe I'd buy a few. Album photocards are random too, but at least you get the group that you like and here it seems that all groups are mixed together.

As someone who collects album and some photocards, I agree 100% and it's something I've been thinking about in the last year or so. I know that the companies probably won't do it, unless photocard sets can also count as sold albums towards the charts, but we can always wish for it.

As a collector, I often feel guilty joining group orders, especially only those that offer photocards only (because I have no idea what's happening to the albums, if they are sold or thrown away - and I saw some photos of albums lying on the street). I try to be more conscious and buy more from other collectors, who got the photocards in the actual album and are selling them, or sometimes trade. But still, with the amount of photocards released each comeback, all the album versions and especially pobs, it would be so much better for the environment if we could buy pcs only. However, I feel like the amount of pobs keeps growing each year, they keep on adding more shops, so I don't see it happening.

Yeah, there's too much of money on the table to stop the current practice. Sadly people don't properly dispose of album if they're hunting certain cards or fancalls. There's been plenty of viral pictures of albums being littered on the streets.

I think best solution is probably changing up packaging to being more eco-friendly I think the elephant in the room is most people are buying albums for the photocards or photobooks. They most likely can have better packaging to reduce size and remove the other stuff that comes included. I know there's digipacks or certain POB versions. However, I think those versions doesn't pack enough content, so people opt for regular albums which aren't the most eco-friendly products.

I think having booster packs in the OP would change some habits in kpop, but it's not in a company's best interest to do that. Album sales will take a major decline if there isn't a scavenger to get get certain items like photocards or fancalls
