i'm here for the chaos if newjeans does better than bp (don't think they will tho) on the charts. you or yama chan will start the mess lol. on X newjeans token stans aka some blinks will drop them like a fly and start shading them. just like armys/hybe stans that were token stanning them before and dropped them the minute mhj spewed those shaman voodoo shiz

like someone said initially yes, everyone is keeping an eye on what they'll release but longevity is hard to predict. they might chart well on the first day and freefall the next day, you never know. it'll depend on the song imo since they're not a performance based group.

Now that they are no longer working with MHJ and dolphin their aesthetic will probably change a bit
Also there's a lot of parameter to take into account
How the scandal had an impact on them and how their behaviour had an impact on their image ?
Will tokkis will be ready to be as supportive than they were in the past knowing now that they are in a company where they don't want to be and hate ?

Blackpink has already shown they are the number 1 girl group of all time.
Without the support NJ used to have from HYBE fandoms and the general public being tired of their drama, good luck!
Maybe "the big bad" ADOR they would never return to can get them a deal with a popular game and get them some streams like that.

BAP did similar thing and it severely hit their momentum and they turned into complete nugu
I think NJ still will get sufficient support from bunnies but will lose all the support from HYBE stans and HYBE groups' fans.
That's pretty sad to be honest.

If you think about it, NewJeans had/have four groups of streamers:
*The Hybe ones (who seemed to drop off before How Sweet, as their streaming numbers were lower than before)
*The MHJ ones (who may listen for their first CB, but drop off afterwards).
*The casual streamers (who are never reliant)
*The girls' own streamers
If they can't pull in more than one sufficiently, things could look dicey for them.

Was the song they released on stage their new sound? That was not it.
If they pivot towards a more jazzy mature sound that I assumed was their next theme then they'll remain far more popular.
