SNSD trying to celebrate a 20th anniversary is laughable

I guess it depends on what you consider as disbanding vs what they consider as disbanding.
Does not being active as a group automatically mean they disbanded?
Officially? No. Realistically? Yes.
That being said, I don't see the point of this thread yet, other than just trolling for the sake of it, seeing as how they're only in their 18th year.
-
Exactly.
It seems JUSTVIBING tends to create JUSTTROLLING threads.
I think this will be locked. I don't know.

I won't report it. I'll just wait and see.

more like on hiatus?

SNSD had a comeback 3 years ago in 2022, if we say SOSHI is a disbanded group, than Blackpink, MAMAMOO are both disbanded too.
People need to realize, groups that are older than 10 years, won't release albums every year, because they don't have time for that, their priorities changed, and it's not worth it for the company, not even if you're SNSD.
The fact that Red Velvet and TWICE still making music in their 10th year, is a surprise. Tbf, if TWICE isn't the biggest JYP girl group, they would be on the SNSD route already, but we'll see what's gonna happen with both of them from now on.
Not many girl groups reached their 10th anniversary.

Realistically, SNSD are soft disbanded. That comeback was their 15th anniversary reunion. They hadn't done anything the 5 years prior, and I don't expect them to do anything else until their 20th anniversary. If you only have reunions for special occasions, you're not really a proper group anymore.
Mamamoo aren't showing any signs of life as far as I'm aware. We may have to call it soon.
Blackpink's status is difficult to categorize, because no one else takes their own group as unseriously as they do.
RV are unfortunately already in their indefinite hiatus era. They haven't released anything since summer of last year, and nothing appears to be in the cards for this calendar year. How long it lasts, or if they also end up unofficially disbanded, is yet to be seen.
If we're talking groups that are genuinely still 100% active, Twice are the last 3rd gen girl group standing, although they are currently on the clock with a big decision to make about their future beyond the current tour. Just like with RV and so many other groups, whether or not they all renew with JYPE will likely be the decider, as I doubt they go the BP route.

There is one thing separates snsd with disbanded groups: the names. They are still using both group and fandom names every time everywhere from official promotions to merchandise. You will never see members of disbanded groups introducing themselves as A of group X or selling stuffs with group name on it.
If your standard is the work intensity then SNSD most of time isn't a proper group, not just since 10 years ago. They had many long hiatuses without a comeback before:
- from 03/2008 (Baby Baby repackage) to 01/2009 (Gee EP): 9 months
- from 10/2010 (Hoot EP) to 10/2011 (The Boys album): 1 year
- from 10/2011 to 12/2012 (Dancing Queen single): 1 year 2 months
- from 01/2013 to 02/2014 (Mr.Mr EP): 1 year 1 month
- from 02/2014 to 07/2015 (Party Single): 1 year 5 months
- from 08/2015 to 08/2017: 2 years.
See? Basically except for 2 years 2009-2010, snsd has always been an anniversary group. They are not that too different from Black pink in this regard.

I tried to gaslight myself of this opinion, but I couldn't lie to myself too long. It's not great.

Like I said, we can't expect groups older than 10 years to release music every year or even every 2 years. Even if the members want it, their agencies don't want to waste time and money, because Kpop fans only care about the new "shiny toys", and that's gonna happen to TWICE as well. They're "lucky" JYP doesn't have anyone else (girl group) who can make money for them, so they might survive another 2 years or so.
MAMAMOO will have a cb next year, at least that's what one of the RBW employee said in an article not long ago. RBW really need a MAMAMOO cb to save their agency, because that shithole doesn't have anyone else.
Red Velvet released music every year for 10 years (except that one year when Wendy had the accident) so I think they can manage if they miss 1 or 2 years, but knowing SME, they're probably on the SNSD route.
As for Blackpink, well, YG never really did much with them comeback wise, so we could say, they're in their "Disbanded era" since their early years.

FOREVER1 is a great song, BUT it's a FAN SONG for a reason!
If anyone want to listen to the best song of that album, it's easily "VILLAIN". The first song that was produced and written by a member: Tiffany and Sooyoung.

"Villain" is the best song on it, you're right, but I'm not going to accept any gaslighting about "Forever 1." I think it leaned too much into a fan song, and it hurt the song too much.

I love the song, but not gonna argue about it with people whom aren't SONE, because it was made for SONE, so I don't see the point of criticizing the song. I mean, every fan song was made for fans, and fans alone.
It's basically the "Avengers Endgame" of SNSD. It's good with a LOT of easter eggs, and it's fun, but unless you're a hardcore fan, you won't rewatch it many times.😂

The Avengers movies aren't good either, so you're kind of just proving my point with that comparison
