This is one i honestly don't get.

Yes aespa have some sci fi concepts and looks, but XG just have them beat constantly on it. They have deep sci-fi references to famous sci fi properties, in lyrics, mv's and concepts. There's constant design refences to famous sci fi artists like HR Geiger and Hajime Soroyama (who is actually working with XG on design for the new album.

Their recent world tour shows were literally themed around leaving Earth to travel deep into space to meet 7 aliens. Their album that the tour was based on started with the intro song HESONOO talking about 7 beings waking up from deep space cryosleep. Then there's lyrics and imagery in songs like Shooting Star, Howling etc.

Again not saying aespa aren't sci-fi themed, just that XG are much more

the phantom is making some sense but i also feel like aespa's ae concept is still pretty powerful, and also whatever happened in armageddon >>>>>>>>

Fair point.

I voted Aespa coz I'm biased.

But my objective self also felt that XG's concept is like very - what fashion or hollywood would think of sci-fi.

In a way it feels kind of standard or stereotypical to me in that sense.

Aespa's is a more grounded - you can wear this fit out, and it's not as over the top. To me it feels more approachable.
