Talented group, but the ship has sailed. She's most likely going to focus on baby don't cry. Maybe Cube's next GG will use Idle members to produce for them
It's a shame because talent-wise they're one of the better 4th gen groups because not many are as good of a vocalist as Chowon or better dancer than Juhyeon. I don't think songs are bad but Cube just didn't know how to manage or market them. Soyeon probably could've figured out something better for them. That's why having a creative is more important than talent imo. They might be controversial figures but they know how to execute ideas.

Hence why I think Cube should no longer be in control of marketing. They are terrible. IIRC, Soyeon has been in control of marketing i-dle for quite some years now, and is the reason why they've become more successful over time.
Edit: First asparagus, now someone... When will this end!! 😫

They weren't going to be let out even if Yuqi wasn't going to be active. Too cushy to be let out now. Probably feels odd to be outside it.
-
That could explain a lot. It's probably explains why CLC, Lightsum, 4minute, pentagon, and prob missing a group or 2 didn't come anywhere close to Idle's popularity. I feel Cube groups make good music and have talented members but they don't have marketing or creative directors to give proper push. I think they have a great ability at identifying talent but fail at execution. If I was Cube with their wealth, I would try and attract better creatives to give their groups a better push.
Speaking about Lightsum how are we all feelin after we've learnt that Yuqi will make solo comeback in september? Because this means more months in dungeon for Lightsum.
There is also a rumored Miyeon comeback for 2025. Not looking for Lightsum. it's been almost 2 years since their last ep or mini album. I thought Honey or Spice EP was very good, but it's been way too long since they gave us new music. I like Pose but that was just a digital single.

did she show intent on that? imo she will never touch the group ever again
i think she really wants to produce for big groups like aespa or newjeans lol or itzy i guess
but im not an idle fan so idk

Nope, she never stated she wanted to work with Lightsum. Honestly, Lightsum and Idle interactions has been very light. So, I doubt it was even in discussion for Soyeon to work with them unless Cube was to heavily compensate her I feel.
You're right that she only stated wanting to produce for major groups like NewJeans and Itzy. However, they possibly could've asked Minnie or Yuqi because they've produced some songs for Idle. Again, we don't know if they even wanted to do that but I guess it could've been practice for them to hone their skills.

I concur. Outside of i-dle, the other groups concepts are kinda... scattered, like there wasn't too much focus put into the overall group concepts, like "let's throw this concept in for a comeback, and that for another" The overall messaging of their groups isn't, and hasn't, been cohesive to achieve a top-tier group in the industry.
Cube is one of the best group to spot talent, like you said, but doesn't do too great of a job at cultivating it with their trainees. Soyeon seems to be the only successful idol at the company, despite the array of talents of idols of groups no longer active at the company, which is a bloody shame, and quite the stain, if you ask me, against the company.
Either way, their Chinese owner/s seem happy with the company, for some reason. I wouldn't be in their shoes.

I wonder if they should've went self-produced route. Unsure if any of them are able to produce but I remember Juhyeon choreographed the video below. This is actually very good but they don't really have songs in this style. I think the reason Idle got as much freedom as they did because they're heavily involved in the creation process.

Unsure if Cube would foot the bill but seemed their only chance was self-produce by getting involved with the process.

I just think their future seems doomed unless they luck into another group.

idk if this is offensive but from what ive seen soyeon loves charting and gaining recognition for her songs, i dont think they are able to deliver that for her

Soyeon seems to be with this group long-term because she's the creative director of the group. I believe Psy is giving her free reigns to handle most of it and has been trying to get her on board for years.I do wonder how she'll balance being creative director for this group and also her role for Idle.
I think the group is actually doing better than expected. They have 350k monthly listeners on spotify which is on par with most 5th gen groups. Plus, their MV had 30m views on YouTube.
Personally, I think she will be doing this long-term because Idle most likely will be slowing down and focus a bit more on solo activities which should give her time to produce for this group.

When Yoon Sangah was put into the group it was the day LS died.
Putting Sangah and two extra baggages, whom no one remembers now, in was a big insult against CW or Juhyeon.
-
Sangah wasn't supposed to be in the group?
I think they made a mistake making her center. I felt they pushed her more than the other members when I felt they should've focused more on Chowon and Juhyeon.
-
No. No one really knows why she, who had trained with some IZOne members, was put into the group and she even stole the leader position from Juhyeon, canceling any identity LS ever had. I am not sure what Sangah did to impress the Cube management but given that there cannot be any cohesion between Sangah and the PD48 people and Juhyeon, who went through so much, it was a very unwise decision, but given Cube's never ending history of screwups, hardly anyone noticed. It was just Cube acting like Cube, that was all.
-
Don't forget that Cube also had Beast, who were quite successful and achieved a string of top 10 songs in the early/mid 2010s.
