I just think anyways it was a bad decision for JYPE to pick such young members to be in this group, especially an international group. I dont know if what KG said was exaggerated but still the problem falls on the companies feet for hiring such young talent. KG and Kaylee were the youngest members and were not ready to be in that system.

  • Sadly some people with a dream still think that being a KPOP trainee is all rainbows, smiles, and then after debut it's only fame, money, and autographs.

For me personally Idols are very hard working people, especially those with a lot of schedules even from smaller agencies. Also when they are so young it's normal that they either need to live with a female manager, or they have cameras around so manager can check what they are doing.

  • Yeah not going to read all of these

They are probably just trying to find a way to say " we didn't do anything wrong" and say that it was a normal environment while trying to find a way to blame all these girls and their young age

The fact that kaylee left after less than a year was already really weird

And then the KG lawsuit just made everything logical

  • they have cameras around so manager can check what they are doing

WTF it's never normal to have camera around

I get it that it's normal to have a manager living with them

They are young, they can mess up and they are far from their families so it's ok to have a manager take this parental image and living with them

But since when it's okay to get spy 24/7 even if you are young

  • Hmmm...

Ok, let's write it this way speaking from personal experience as someone who was going often on 2 week or 1 month football (soccer) camps with a team, and other sports summer camps as well. I remember that on the longest camp coach was usually checking on us around 10-11 PM, and sometimes he would also check later on if he noticed that lights in room were on. Usually we were staying in some dorm, or school/academy with dormitory, Something with bunk beds like you can see below.often.jpg

Now the thing is I remember one time when we were 16/17 some dudes were caught smoking and in consequence coach was pissed and he changed rooms in a way that two troublemakers ended in room with him, and three others were in room with other teacher.

I also remember one time we were hunting some mosquitos around 1 AM because it was hard to sleep and coach also came to check. The other day most of us were sleeping, some were reading a book so the small table lights were on, and coach from girls team which was walking around came to check on us as well. So you know it was quiet, no one was bothering anyone yet still poking and asking: "what are you doing, why are you not sleeping?", things like this were actually making us always ungry in a way of: "damn it, just leave us alone, this guy is reading a book, this one is reading some comic book, and that one is playing on gameboy, and I'm fvckin sleepin, you woke me up".

Honestly from my perspective as I was usually cracking some jokes, making fun with friends but never did anything outside or rules so... I'd rather have that camera in dorm room, another one in joint living area, and one more in dining room. The only thing I wouldn't agree to is having cam in bathroom.

  • The stance of a lot of people lack nuance every damn time

We're talking about very young people. AND on American soil. We can say that they should have expected the hardship of typical kpop training, some of it shouldn't be normalized because it already happened.

The explanations can look plausible but with what we've seen for the past years and just basic company mistrust, I'm not going to trust jype's words 100%

  • Are you really trying to compare an adult taking care of teenage people to be sure that none of them is getting hurt, or doing a stupid shit while they are together in a room

To a company putting camera surveillance to spy on kids 24/7

I doubt a surpervisor is spying on all of your actions, when you go to the bathroom, when you go to the fridge to see if you eat etc...

We all know why kpop companies are spying on trainee 24/7 to watch if they don't do stupid things, to spy if they don't order things to eat in the night or of they don't go eat at any hours and don't respect their diet etc....

Can't believe i'm reading comments of people trying to justify that it's a great thing to spy on teenage girls 24/7 :pepefacepalm::pepefacepalm:

  • No.

  • I'm not justifying anything, just saying it's a captain obvious thing that when you are 15 year old kid you'll be on those cameras. Everyone heard stories about kpop trainees or already debuted idols sneaking out of dorm and coming back in the middle of the night. Or going down through window on 1st floor because there was CCTV on Doors, which in addition to that were making a sound.

+ For the situation whole VCHA situation happened in USA as it's referred in documents with words "California law" when referring to payment.

And for the record I've never wrote anything about diet, eating etc.

That's totally Different set of obvious problems not just in this case but overall in kpop.

  • I won't read the documents but I don't know how anybody can defend jype here.

I fully believe KG in what she's said. It's clear there was culture conflict with JYPE and VCHA. JYPE most likely thought they can use kpop style of training in a different region and that's not going to work.Say what you want about Hybe but they fully understood that which is why Katseye is the successful group that is targeting western markets. JYPE needed better market research because they got the whole market and presentation wrong imo.

Hopefully the girls get justice because jype failed them. Also, kpop companies need to understand you can't use the same kpop methods in other regions. They need to research the market and learn what's okay and what's not okay, and how can they help nurture talent. It seems JYPE failed in doing this and hopefully if others attempt they learn from this. I feel something as easy as this is why the same issues when marketing outside of Korea happens.
