OnceTaglist here it is !! :flop:

Well I'm still listening to the TT so I'll let you judge first (I've listened to the first one which seems to be the concert intro)

  • Nvm I listened to Options, Mars, and now Right Hand Girl and it's quite good :eyes:

They all sound quite different from the Album trailer. I guess it really was a lot of editing which is a weird choice for an album preview. I personally like a lot of the songs so won't really complain, but I bet some had specific expectations that won't be upheld

  • 1. FOUR — 7/10

Nothing more than an intro/opening song. It's okay. Not the best. Shot Clock is better imo.

    2. THIS IS FOR — 8.5/10

    3. OPTIONS — 7.5/10

Nothing really stands out. And I also didn't understand what they were singing in this song w/o the lyrics so yeah.

    4. MARS — 8.5/10

Could have been a 10/10 on if it had a bridge and last chorus. We were robbed of Jeongyeon's post chorus ;(

    5. RIGHT HAND GIRL — 9.5/10

The BEST song on the album. Nayeon's second verse is the best thing in this entire album. Blew me away.

    6. PEACH GELATO — 7/10

Cute song but not really memorable.

    7. HI HELLO — 7.5/10

Everyone thought was gonna be the flop but it's actually good. The chorus is stuck in my head.

    8. BATTITUDE — 7/10

Not my cup of tea and also not what I expect from TWICE.

    9. DAT AHH DAT OOH — 8/10

Jhyo saved this song. But it is actually better than Battitude.

    10. LET LOVE GO — 7.5/10

Chorus was the only good part. Also, it became too repetitive at the end.

    11. G.O.A.T. — 8.5/10

Now, a pleasant surprise. I thought it was going to be one of the worst songs on the album it's one of the best lol. Everyone got their moment and Mina showed why she's that girl.

    12. TALK — 8.5/10

BEST unit song. Nayeon and Jihyo did their big one in this. The vocals? Chefs kiss. They are prolly now my fav Twice duo, replacing SaTzu

    13. SEESAW — 8/10

Not in my top 5 but I can see it becoming a fan favorite like Crazy Stupid Love

    14. HEARTBREAK AVENUE — 9/10

Another song that could have been a 10/10 if there was a final chorus. But hey, at least we got all of 3mix for the chorus.

ummmmm.... the Album I like the least

  • Thoughts after the first listen.

This a very pop-R&B heavy album. Not what I was expecting, but I guess I should have expected it considering This Is For and Strategy. Who would have ever thought we would go from Knock Knock and Likey to this? But, I am happy Twice is trying new things.

I am not going to lie, most of these songs started out kind of slow for me. Like from the first listen, most of these songs didn't grab me within the first chorus, and I kind of put them in the forgettable category. But, then by the time the final chorus was going, I found myself bopping my head and rocking my body. So, these seem to be growers.

Songs that hooked me right away/Playlist Material: MARS, Talk, and Battitude

Songs I started grooving to by the end: Dat Ahh Dat Ohh, Let Love Go, Seesaw, G.O.A.T, Right Hand Girl

Songs that may be Playlist Material on 2nd Listen: Heartbreak Avenue, Seesaw, Options, and Right Hand Girl

For my first listen, I listened on my laptop without any head phones. I also listened out of order. For my 2nd listen, I'll listen on my phone with head phones in order, so that may really make some of these growers shine through better!

  • I enjoyed this a lot, and it does seem like an album to attract western pop fans. I am not sure how this will be received among kpop fans. I think they made a mistake for title track and I felt option or mars would've been better title tracks. i am leaning more towards Mars

The subunit songs are a lot of fun and I really liked Let Love Go and Talk Talk. I felt they gave us a variety of sounds and each member did their thing. I am happy for them in regarding to that

The b-sides felt strong and there's a lot of replay. I loved Heartbreak Ave a lot and it's such a beautiful song. I really liked their vocals on it, and it's such a good song. I think this song is going to be special for me and I think it will connect with many.

overall very fun album and it seems more western focused. However, that doesn't detract from it because there's a lot of replayability.

  • I'm only listening to the album for the second time now, so I will share more detailed thoughts later. But I can already tell it goes to my top Twice albums.

It's like a perfect mix of retro and modern sound, reminiscent of Eyes Wide Open in this aspect, but of course with completely different sound. I feel like it's a truly fresh and new sound for Twice and I love it so much that they keep experimenting! The last two EPs were not fully my taste but I'm so happy I love this album so much.

For now, my top 5 songs are:

    G. O. A. T. / Seesaw

    DAT AAH DAT OOH

    Right Hand Girl

    Talk

But I can't point out any song that I dislike, I think they're all 7 or above for me 😊

I love the units and how they give more exposure to each member and fit their style. It's also interesting how most of the songs sound different than on that mix teaser - the instrumentals were more stripped there and everything was mixed together of course. It led to me being quite surprised that some songs sound completely different in the original full version.

Overall, I think the album feels super cohesive, in spite of having different sounds and vibes. I can see myself listening to it a lot, each song is so complex and has so much to offer, I feel like I discover something new with each listen.

I will share my thoughts about each track in the next days 😊🎶

  • I really like Seesaw somehow... :smirks:

also Mars and Right Hand Girl... Heartbreak Avenue is not what I expected, but it's a beautiful song too. It fits the last spot of the tracklist

I love Seesaw so much, there's something so beautiful and soft about the chorus melody that really touches me :holding-back-tears:

Currently it's my favourite song from the album with G. O. A. T. though it may change after I listen to it properly.

But it's so lovely and chill, I know I will be replaying it a lot :lighter-pepe::pepelove1:
