Ateez Renews Contract with KQ for ANOTHER 7 Years.

  • I was sure they would renew but another 7 years is amazing!!!

All eight members of boy band Ateez have renewed their contracts with KQ Entertainment for another seven years, the agency said Thursday.

“We’re pleased to continue this relationship built on seven years of trust,” KQ said in a press release.

“We will continue to provide unwavering support to each member so that they can fully showcase their boundless potential and advance to the broader stage.”

Ateez debuted in 2018 with the songs “Pirate King” and “Treasure,” and the band’s initial seven-year contract was reaching the end this year.

At a press showcase event for the band’s recent EP “Golden Hour: Part.3” last month, member Hongjoong had teased that “good news will be announced soon” and that the members were “contemplating on how to present Ateez for a long time.”

Ateez made a few notable feats in recent years, with its first Billboard Hot 100 singles chart entry last month through the song “Lemon Drop,” the lead track fromGolden Hour: Part.3.” The song debuted at No. 69.

The band also was the first K-pop boy band to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival last year.

Ateez is set to release a special “In Your Fantasy Edition” of “Golden Hour: Part.3” on Friday. The band is in the middle of its “In Your Fantasy” world tour, set to perform at Atlanta on Thursday and New York on Sunday.

  • I am so so happy!! They announced it at their concert last night too!! Yunho made a joke there that he's going to be very old when his contract ends lol... he began walking around the stage like an old man with a hurt back hehe

Honestly hope so, yes KQ has had it's wtf moments but for the most part for the past 5 years since i've been into Kpop I feel like they truly prioritize Ateez over anything else, though sometimes i feel like they are definitely doing too much and overworked but if this is what THEY want who am i to complain? As long as they keep having input in their music and being allowed to be hands on i don't think they'd find that anywhere else. I hope KQ DOES allow those who want to, to venture into maybe solo releases.

Happy and happy for you, Jenn :giftr:

Thank you! It's been a joy watching them grow despite only being a fan since 2020!

Yes, KQ can be concerning at times and honestly Wooyoung looks like he lost a LOT of weight to the point it looks concerning. I have trust in ATEEZ and hope that they can take a break when they need to. There's no point in overanalyzing when we don't know what is going on behind the scenes. So while I will worry for Wooyoung, I will be normal about it. He's a grown man and doesn't need me (like who tf am I to him lol) trying to dote over him online haha
