This is true and not just for us it's true for any country. If you have a celebrity that will increase your nations prestige. In the end it serves you. Not just pride but profit too. More tourists means more tax dollars more money means slightly better services and maybe if you are lucky some of that money goes directly in your pocket. Most people don't give a damn about the celebrity as long as whatever they are doing benefits us in some fashion that's all that matters in the end

Agree. This is also how I feel about yoo ah in. Poor guy.

But imo these two things are not the same. Alcoholism is not seen the same way as drug use.

So no I don’t think Suga will get hate like TOP. Drugs and weed are taboo in many parts of Asia. Falling off a kiddie scooter drunk is not a big deal anywhere including Korea.

I’m sure opportunistic haters will bring this “criminal” behaviour up when ever there’s a chance.. there will always be hate, unfortunately

I think this will only become a serious issue (enough to make TV news headlines) if something happens because of it. If Suga starts a controversy by composing a rap clapping back at haters who tried to take him down by exploiting this nonincident, i could see it backfiring on him. Hopefully he doesnt and just lets it go.

The one wildcard could also be his alternative service. I'm not sure how this is viewed in Korea these days, whether it could be seen as "favored" treatment esp since everyone else at BTS i think did the presumably far more demanding regular military service. I know other idols did alternative service but no one undergoes BTS level of scrutiny.

There are a LOT of POWERFUL and vested interests in Korea (including a chaebol that rhymes with FM-Babao) that dont want BTS to become huge again. Probably even international interests as well. Nobody outside of Hybe and Army wants to see headlines, hype, social media trends recaptured by a resurgent BTS.
