How has Kpop influenced your life style?

  • Fashion wise, food taste wise, hobbies wise and etc.

    I got into kpop in a pretty young age, I was 15 years old when I encountered Miss A's Touch MV after watching Boys Over Flowers. Since then kpop has:

    - Motivated me to learn new languages, so it became a hobbie of mine. I love learning and practicing other languages up to this day;

    - I became a pretty good dancer. I started to follow dance pactices and eventually enrolled in dance classes. I don't dance like that anymore, but I'm known by my friends to be a pretty good dancer;

    - I'm definetly open-minded to anything different from my culture. Being a kpop fan also means to love, admire and support people that are very different from me. I like to say that kpop turned me into a very open-minded person, different from my piers that are really resistent to different things and cultures.

    There's probably a lot more since it has been a part of my life for so many years.

    What about you? How has Kpop influenced your life style?

  • The biggest thing for me was also that I spent way too much money on the albums, photocards and merch :sweat:

    But I also got to try new food thanks to it. I tried cooking a few easy Korean dishes and really enjoyed them. (I want to try more but it's a bit tricky, because I don't eat meat)

    And I guess kpop made me more interested in different Asian cultures. I had a bollywood phase before kpop but after discovering kpop I started reading more books by Asian authors and also watching shows/films.

    My music taste has always been quite diverse but after discovering kpop, it because a big chunk of what I listen to and I think I'm happier since I started listening to kpop. :-)

  • I can relate so much. I expanded my foos experience and study of asian cultures because of kpop and am definetly happier with kpop in my life. But I never tries to cook anything, I mess things up on the kitchen too much to give a go hahaha

    It happens to me too, I only got somehow better in the kitchen in the last few years :sweat: I prefer to cook at home because it's healthier, that's why I wanted to learn.

    Maybe you could try something easy, like some basic ramen?

    • I've always love fashion vut since being into kpop i take a lot of inspiration from them especially with their habit of playing with different pattern and their habit to overlap different clothes
    • I was a fan of anime so i've always wanted to learn japanese but since becoming kpop fans i started to be more serious with my learning of korean and japanese
    • My music taste improve and are much more diversify
    • I'm very open minded to anything which change when most people are usually more reluctant to learn about new culture, new music style, trying new food
    • It also motivate me to take better care of me, now i like skincare etc ...

    But considering how kpop influence us i think it's important to also highlight the negative affect that it can have on people

    • Personally i feel like i'm more aware of my body and weight since becoming a kpop fans considering that i see all these tall, fit people so i'm always trying to get closer to this standard of body

    Nothing better than a home cooked meal, you're right.

    I can make those instant noodles ramen, 3min and it's done. Sometimes I'll boil an egg and add meat left overs, I'm always proud when I do so lol

    That's great! I only made similar simple ramen too - adding an egg, some cheese and garlic (it was a garlic ramen recipe, very yummy if someone likes the taste).
