The declines of first week sales in KPop continue without any hesitation
ZB1, highest selling album of this year so far, 1.25m but its last album sold 1.353m. (Its mini album, which came just 3 months after, sold 1.11m)
IVE sold 1.048m. It sold 1.31m the last time.
Plave is a newer 'act' and not a usual KPop act so it is hard to compare.
Le Sserafim's album sales fell from 677k to 636k.
BSS, last album in 2023, sold about 600k. This album, probably the last before their enlistment, sold about 500k, showing a premonition that SVT's next album, which would be ready for quite a while, will not sell as high as what it used to.
GDragon did not release an album for years yet his album sold less than a million.
Sales figures for Treasure , the first album since 2023, and NMixx improved a bit, but these do not compensate for the general retreat of KPop album sales.
In 2023, the halcyon year of KPop, 29 albums topped 1 million first week sales. Last year, when the decline could not be hidden, 22 albums topped a million.
1/4 of the year has passed and only 3 albums surpassed 1 million sales. Although big albums tend to come out in the middle of the year all the way to Oct, given this rate it seems less than 20 albums will sell more than 1 million in the first week.
