Americans, do you believe in election interference?

  • Americans, do you believe in election interference? 3

    1. Yes (2) 67%
    2. Unsure (1) 33%
    3. No (0) 0%

I believe it has not happened because of the way the Electoral College works (most of the world doesn't have the Electoral College).

But maybe it has happened because of the Electoral College being one thing, and the popular vote being another. You can win the presidency without winning the popular vote.

  • That's far too broad a question. Since many places in the USA doesn't even enforce the most rudimentary ballot security policies that every other nation on Earth requires, people will have to draw their own conclusions about why those avenues for fraud are left wide open - and what the result might be.

It's certainly possible that Americans are as pure as the driven snow and would never, ever take advantage of poor ballot security. The world knows, after all, what innocent and naive people we are. ¬‿¬

  • There's 100% interference as some level. I don't think it's large enough to effect results yet, but election tampering is definitely on the rise across the globe and will change elections.

Do you think mandatory voting would help decrease the amount of election interference?

Also, I don't know how Russia or some other country could interfere with another country's election.

It's also possible that it's maybe it's just people believing there's election interference when there's not.

It's also possible that it was how the country was governed that led to a Trump victory in 2024.

"Lichtman argues that his model demonstrates that American voters select their next president according to how well the United States was governed in the preceding four years."

He predicted a Kamala Harris win, but Trump won. One of the reasons he gave is her nomination--we have never had a president drop out after winning the primaries (until Biden), but we have had eligible presidents who refused a second term before the primaries like Lyndon Johnson in 1968.

  • Duh.. Americans invented election interference.

But perhaps they were naive to think only they can do it to others and it won't happen to them.

That has changed with globalization and with social media, become less cost prohibitive, that any nation can play the game. Even Pakistanis whose economy is surviving with handouts are being suspected by Canadians of interference.

Immigration and social media, makes that possible.

Sure electoral college is not as suspectable to that manipulation as popular vote is.

But then politicians can always be bought by lobbies and many lobbies are owned by foreign interests, even non-state actors.

  • Biden's team buried Hunter's laptop scandal. Harris' team spread fake news about Trump. Are these interferences?

Also, wasn't a total foreigner (a Chinese student) caught voted only because he felt guilty and attempted to revoke his vote? Did not Musk unveil dupe social welfare numbers? Who knows how many more foreigners voted. Who knows how many citizens double voted using alternate ID numbers. There was a suspicion massive immigration was partly meant to tamper the election.

I don't think massive immigration played a role in tampering the election because of the low voter turnout with a very likely answer of most of the voters being Americans.

  • I'm not american but i do believe in election interference because americans do it all the time in my country and they and media are public about it. And we cannot do nothing about it.

That feels bad. I don't know when or if Russia will stop interfering the United States presidential elections. Russia has been accused of election interference in 2024 and also 2016.

If I'm informed correctly there's no proof that there was Russian interference and there were many investigations. However, it's been known that Americans are interfering in our politics and elections. For obvious reasons it was never publicly announced because we are a country of only 7 million people, but it's been known. American ambasador Christopher Hill had to approve every government, he was present in government meetings where he had no business to be there, he even got in a party that was near census to the parliament. Also, USAID funded our government, the logo was so long on the parliament site but after the controversy it got taken down.

So, yeah. We can't do anything about it.

It's not an accusation, they were proven to have interfered in the 2020 election and the CIA put the Russian perpetrators on their wanted list.

  • I’m not American but have been trying to follow American politics for the past few years - it’s started like a horrible comedy but now has turned into a dystopian horror. But to answer your question, yes I do believe in interference.

You're clueless. The lower the turnout, the easier to tamper/intervene the election.

"Proven" by CIA, who later was caught the news fabricator?

You and that another person above need to take some break from mainstream media.
