I've said for years that NJZ, under MHJ, had the safest and most supportive environment a trainee could ask for, and every few months a story like this happens to prove me right.

Life as a trainee before Min Heejin could be described as draconian at best.

Life under her wing was nurturing and became the impetus for their creativity blossoming.

And people wonder why NJZ would choose MHJ over HYBE without a second thought.

I thought these practices were, unfortunately, very normal for kpop trainees? Lack or privacy and diet control was something most trainees talk about.

I think these practices are useless because all kpop idols know they have to stay skinny, this just kills their soul tbh

Who in this industry is a good person? They like her because she was good for and to them and that's why they want to stay together with her.

Find the people in the room who said MHJ deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for her endless charity and selfless sacrifice.

All anyone is saying, including Danielle, is that she treated her artists exactly like that word I just used: artists.

And she was mindful of their age and vulnerability as well, which is why MHJ even allowed their parents to attend schedules with them and gave the girls very frequent time off.

Anyone who's been an idol fan for a long time knows how most idols, especially at the start of their careers, basically never get to see their families. NJZ are given time to connect with their all the time.

Which also explains why the parents are so fiercely loyal to MHJ. Honestly, who cares about the motivations we can only speculate about, when the end result is that the girls and their families feel safe and secure?

Tbh MHJ is problematic sure, but everything she is doing for njz since pre debut should be what companies should do to idols, but when I see kpop fans reactions (not really here anymore) it's like they don't want idols to be happy, healthy, being taken care of, on contrary, they want idols to be under inhuman conditions, rules, contracts like dolls.

Atp I'm sure kpop fans are as weird as kpop executives.

Who cares about the motivations? Well, IF or WHEN we find out that MHJ wasn't really that nice, I think you mind want to take back what you just said.

I mean, for Christ’s sake, if someone is nice for a reason, that's not a good thing. I can't even count how many times over 3 decades I heard (MOSTLY) woman and little girls saying, they felt safe and secure next to someone, and when they grow up, had more power to speak up, we find out that those people around them, INCLUDING THEIR PARENTS (just look at Britney) were just as garbage humans.

I'm not saying, I'm 100% sure that MHJ is a piece of shit, but I wouldn't be surprised if one day we read something like this about her.

I don't feel surprised of anything she mentioned. I know idol life is tough for anyone who wants to get in and I keep thinking there must be lots of cases in which SA or physical abuse is also part of it.

I am not saying it makes Danielle's words any less valid no one has to go through all of that.

Can't help but feel there is so much we can't even think that goes under the radar. Hopefully NJZ manages to change the industry a little bit.

I don't give a damn about your baseless conjecture. The constant projection people make about NJZ, almost wishing for them to be abused and exploited victims to validate their personal distaste towards MHJ, is honestly creepy at BEST.

There are zero indications the girls weren't treated with respect and care under MHJ. You're not even a fan, so stop trying to talk down to one who has seen all the lives, vlogs and fan content that painted a clear picture of how happy the girls were before the drama erupted last April.

We will never know everything that happens behind the scenes, but people who ARE behind the scenes have gone on record multiple times vouching for how well the girls are treated by MHJ and how much of a joy it is to work with them on any project.

So spare me the doomposting and concern trolling.

I think it's probably even difficult for long time kpop stans to comprehend since they are conditioned to believe trainee life has to be hell, but NJZ are showing it doesn't and fighting for that, good on them.

It's always the Suffering Olympics with K-Pop stans, who think their idols having the most horrific trainee experience is another bullet point to brag about in an achievement post.

People always talk about being pro-idol and wanting the industry to change its suffocating and oftentimes exploitative practices in idol training, but when an idol does speak out, especially if it's not THEIR preferred idol, get ready for another round of the Suffering Olympics.

If not that, it devolves into mind-numbing, unintelligible rants about that's the way it's always been and the idols knew that before signing up for the job. Surely I don't need to expound on why "this is the way it's always been, so this is the way it should always be" is one of the most destructive mindsets a person can have in any aspect of life.

What trainees are still subjected to today is completely barbaric and archaic. MHJ trashing all those tyrannically oppressive management strategies didn't ruin NJZ; it made them better artists and happier.

Imagine how bad it must have been for a ray of sunshine like Danielle to lose her sense of self during that period of her life.

I've seen too many of my favorite idols get chewed up and spit out by this industry to not want better for the next generations of idols, and it will take current stars like Danielle speaking out and sharing their experiences to make change happen.
