Probably forced since the Senior Singer did not like Wonyoung and Leeseo botching a cover of her song.
It was not very typical for her to 'invite' someone like IVE when the latter is now past its prime and they did not really have a rapport with her.
And like what you said they did not really feel comfortable seeing the Senior Singer, especially Wonyoung and Leeseo for obvious reasons.
Perhaps Lee Jieun wanted to maintain her relevancy among the younger generation since IVE still has some currency with the under-15 population. That would be the only reason to 'invite' IVE - I think she should have invited one of the 4.5th gen acts, one of BabyMonster, Meovv or Izna, instead but they would respect her even less than IVE.
The defeat by Bibi was probably decisive.
