    Yep. This gets its own thread, after all the shady posts and threads made about their Japan debut last summer, and especially when HYBE got caught trying to downplay it and their stans defended that scumbag behavior

    Cheers BunniesTaglist :meme-cheers:

  • This is seriously impressive af! Last year, Lsf made history as the first girl group in 20 years to hit over 2 billion in sales in a single year since 2003. Their total sales were 2.1 billion, the same as Nj this year. Just to add, in 2023, LSF dropped two Japanese albums, and both sold over 200k copies each.

    Here’s a breakdown of that figure for Lsf:

    49% came from streaming platforms, 31% from singles, 18% from albums, and 2% from digital downloads.

    As for NJ’s Japanese release, it’s a bit tricky to pinpoint how much of their sales came from Japan, since their album wasn’t exclusively released there like most Kpop acts’ Japanese albums. Estimates suggest it’s over 100k, so I’m curious about their specific revenue breakdown. Are you telling me they thrive that much just from streaming because that's again impressive. Unfortunately, this specific breakdown was released by Hybe, so I don’t think we’ll ever know the exact numbers for NJ.

  • Yeah I'm going to assume we won't be getting exact numbers any time soon. But the numbers are actually insane for what was just a 2 song drop, also keeping in mind that NewJeans have no Japanese members.

  • Queens, but the title is misleading. They ranked the highest – as foreigners – in the "New Artist Sales" category of Oricon Annual Ranking.

    The highest foreign overall was SEVENTEEN, followed by Stray Kids. They were the only foreigners even in Top 5. I don't remember how much SEVENTEEN made, but Stray Kids made over 6 billion.

    I.. :meme-excuse-me::exit-pepe:

    That's kinda embarrassing, BUUUUT anyways..

    Congrats girls! Do make money!!!

  • Regardless, It was indeed a successful year for them in Japan. And they are the hottest foreign act with the japanese general public right now, even though people like to say the opposite...

    Btw that's what I don't understand. I clearly see bunnies here sharing really impressive NJs numbers there even their dome fan meeting, but it's incredible how non fans love to camp in any thread about it to say how they are flopping in comparison to others top kpop acts there like ??

    Their streams are insane, they have really nice records and seeing how even in that jp program (I forgot the name) they were at the center of the stage, this is bc they are known, no?

    I swear, hybe will go to hell for trying to stop them.. I think their ww tour will be amazing and will surprise a looooot of people.

    They were the best selling female act, most streamed female group internationally and had the most cummulative circle index points domestically. While only releasing 2 korean songs and a japanese debut that – historically and objectively – always gather less attention than korean releases. This is extremely impressive.

    I also have a good expectation about the World Tour. I feel like everything they went through in 2024 made their fandom stronger and more loyal to them.

    All HYBE did was make NewJeans' fandom stronger and solidify them as Korea's darlings, with locals giving them the Cinderella treatment, fair or unfair. Once the legal issues are mostly settled, they're going to return more powerful than ever before.

    Seventeen made around 6.3 billion
