I hate what Korea did to Park Bom

  • I’m sitting here watching the 2NE1 performance and i can see her doing all the moves, all the steps, interacting a little with the other girls and singing probably the clearest vocals in years…. But i can see the fear and anxiety in her too.

Its like she’ll never escape the fear and shame that Korea placed on her. She’s been called ugly, lazy, and painted to be a drug addict so harshly by even her own label CEO that I honestly am shocked that she even agrees to perform. I can tell she loves being on stage, even today, because she does get through the shell of fear in the performance and put on a good show, but I can’t help but remember the years and years of onslaughts of insults. She deserved and deserves so much better, especially considering she sort of created Jisoo and every current it girl who was allowed to be pretty, talented AND bad ass. And while i’m at it, she invented Rose and anyone who sings in kpop with stylistic choice.

I’m just mad, idk. I hope she makes so much money, lives a life of joy and never hears a negative comment ever again. I want her protected

  • partly her blame, partly YG. Saying you didn't know adderall is illegal in Korea is not a valid excuse. YG's weak response didn't help either.

  • That's kpop for you, if you don't give enough profit no kpop company will care to clean up your image, look how fast they dropped BI too... Unfortunately that's it.. kpop executives are the epitome of toxic and evil...

About her fear, yeah, kpop fans can destroy idols mentality over every little mistake, I think this tour will be healing for her and them tbh, it was always obvious how they loved being 2ne1 and how they missed it. If they come to Brazil I'll try to go to their concert, even though I'm not a stan, I'm happy they can continue their dream!

  • CaraFIMIE  monalisalove  0ppar i blame YG the company 30% and i blame the society around her 70%.

Adderall is illegal in korea but she grew up overseas where its legal and was prescribed to her… i just cant help but feel bad for her for acting as normal and having a smear campaign launched against her

I'd say to put more blame on the company, tbh.

If YG truly cared he would've taken into account what she was going through and why she needed the medications. In doing that, he would've realized that adderall is illegal in Korea and would've arranged for her to be administered an alternative that is actually legal.

And then yes, the society around her is to blame. Certain "fans" are so quick to initiate cancel culture on an idol for doing the most trivial things.

It's one of the few instances where I actually became so indescribably disgusted by fans as a whole. To cancel someone and essentially ruin her career and life over something so little as using medications that lesson her day-to-day struggles is something only those of inherently barbaric nature would be capable of. And then to let this happen with little to no objection is of the utmost injustice that she did not deserve.

But then again, its k-pop where, in the eyes of the company, the wishes of "fans" matter more than the wellbeing of the artist.
