[Exclusive] (G)I-DLE's Jeon So-yeon Leaves Cube... Contract Renewal Fails
(Xports News Reporter Kim Ye-eun) (G)I-DLE's Jeon So-yeon is leaving her agency.
According to an Xports News report on the 25th, Jeon So-yeon recently had discussions with her agency Cube Entertainment (hereafter referred to as Cube) regarding renewing her contract, but it ultimately fell through. As a result, Jeon So-yeon and Cube have decided to go their separate ways.
Jeon So-yeon's contract with Cube is set to expire in November. This was already known. This is because Jeon So-yeon changed some of the lyrics during her solo concert stage in August to "My contract ends in November. Who's stopping me?"
At the time, Cube explained, "It's time for all members to renew their contracts" and "lyrics are part of the stage performance," but later changed their statement, saying that Jeon So-yeon's contract was actually expiring in November. During this process, Jeon So-yeon also publicly criticized Cube, expressing her dissatisfaction with them.
After choosing to break up with Cube, Jeon So-yeon started looking for a new agency. As the members of (G)I-dle still have time left on their contracts with Cube, curiosity about (G)I-dle's future activities is also increasing.
Meanwhile, Jeon So-yeon debuted as a solo singer in November 2017 before (G)I-dle debuted, and her contract period is different from that of the other members. (G)I-dle debuted in May 2018.
