Have any of you gone under anesthesia for a surgical operation?

  • I did on Monday, but after I went home and rested for the day/night, I woke up with vision problems... Everything I read is blurry smh

They put some kinda nausea patch behind my ear and said not to touch it because it could mess with my eyes but ive been very careful... maybe I did it in my sleep idk

I gotta use my grandmas reading glasses to even check my phone and do my schoolwork (I'm in my in-person comp class rn)

    :wilds:

  • twice

when I was 8 I got surgery on my right eye and when I was 24 I got my wisedom theeths and a nother teeth off

I don't remember much from when I was 8 since I was all fine after a day, but puked on the day I had surgery cause I was hungry and wanted to eat in the evening after a full day of not eating and the nurse was like: "Nope, you will not eat" but I was so hungry that I got mad after 24 hours of not eating ... and regreted it at the end.

And the other time, I woke up after being in surgery for 20 minutes and maybe waking up-process for 10 minutes, stood up, went home, felt ok, but still took a 2 hour nap

  • oh okay, good! (kinda sad tho these glasses are cute)

if you don't mind me asking, are you okay??

I am fine now. I had some pain in my shoulder back in january followed by the ability to not breathe. After tests we found a nerve in my diaphragm was paralyzed and my lung was collapsed. After about 8 months they decided on surgery and I had diaphragm plication surgery. It wasn't painful but i had complications in the hospital with subcutaneous air under my skin. I'm doing better now, the air is gone just a bit of pressure on the incision site which is 3 small ones and 1 about an inch long on my right side. i feel like i can breathe better though so that's a plus.

before that i've been under anesthesia about 4 other times, 2 were weightloss related.

  • mine was about an hour long lol, its kind of weird when you immediately wake up somewhere else. I tried to sit up but it hurt badly bc I had to get some kinda mass out of my chest. its a called Fibroadenoma.

  • I've had two

A minor one on my knee last year and then a major one little over a month ago.

The first one I really didn't have any side effects, the 2nd time I did have a bit of an issue with occasional blurred vision for day 2 but it was honestly the least of my problems lol. I was on so many drugs and painkillers that I didn't even know where to point the finger at

I would love to stay home and rest and take my pain meds but I cannot, my higher education awaits me :meme-life-support:

  • Yepper 3 times.

First was for a lymph node biopsy

Second was for open heart surgery

Third was for another heart operation where they had to drain some fluid.

I remember after my biopsy( and my heart operation too I think) they stuck a citrus patch on my hospital gown to help with nausea, it personally helped me
