No promotion is as good as album roll out for LY HER (2017) and introduction to the LY series

  • nobody is beating BTS when it comes to transmedia storytelling and I say that shit confidently.

It all started with a tweet :

Jin holding 'never seen before' flower

Then, here comes a random online flower shop blog for this never seen before flowershop owner...the owner's name is Italian for 'Yourself'.

He describes how it was discovered with a screenshot of an Instagram post from June 12, 2013 (BTS’s debut date). The Instagram username is “amare_0” and is supposedly a traveler who found the flowers growing in northern Italy (“amare” means “love” in Italian, so if we combine this username with the florist’s name, we get “love yourself”).

Then the flower shop owner says he is going to open shop on BTS' comeback date

This was when ARMY discovered the link between the flower shop owner and BTS' comeback as well as the name of their new Trilogy all before it was announced by Big Hit

Then here comes the Highlight Reels :

The flower, the shop, and the tragedy of the girl dying before Jin could reach her is all there + it provides insight to their alternate universe and his ability.

The flower shop owner also gave perspective about the entire theme for LOVE YOURSELF TEAR (love yourself before you tear yourself) with a story about a disfigured man being unable to confront the girl he likes before she passes away. A story about how not loving oneself stops one from finding love.

BTS later release The Truth Untold about the man's story in consecutive album LOVE YOURSELF TEAR

It was all soo MIND BLOWING how the fandom predicted when everything would be released with just stories from a flower blog.

Bighit did not release ANY comeback schedule like other kpop companies usually do

  • Their past album rollout was done well. It must have been amazing to witness that.

I wonder how they will do the rollout for the next album/era. I'm not really a fan of BH current creative director. :pepe-life-support:

TBH they did try to do something interesting with MOTS 7.

There was literally CONNECT BTS with artists all over the world.

But loads of ARMYs pissed me off then.

    Let me ask you ,

Would the ARMYs of today be able to handle an album rollout like LY HER ??

    For example:

LY HER did not have a typical comeback schedule.

Fans did not demand anything like that from the company either, claiming it was sabotage

All we had was a blog, an imaginary flower, and vibes

    Imagine that today. :skull:

I done lost majority of my faith in the fandom already. I expect them to piss me off again.

And that's me saying I don't doubt BTS' creativity because I believe they ARE in these discussions but I do doubt that I'll like the way the fandom reacts

    But we shall see

    Maybe I'll be surprised.

  • :pepe-life-support:

Tbh, I don't think so. I feel like current ARMYs would like a clear schedule and have an idea of whats going on. Most of them would want BTS to go all out or it would be considered not good/ a sabotage.

We don't really have an idea on how they will approach things now. But I think their experience of doing solo projects will help them tackle things as group.

  • Tbh most armys complaints have been post promotions. Like it’s cool and all to do this and announce a project. I doubt armys will be triggered about this. They only complain if after the release of the album, there’s lackluster promotional materials

  • Nowadays album roll-outs are basically only concept photos and teaser videos, i hope BTS comeback with something creatively cryptic like this again.. if i remember correctly both BE and Proof had pretty typical kpop schedules. Butter had a great rollout though

No one can beat Butter’s teaser which had so many of us hooked.. was it nearly a million of live viewers watching melting butter cartoon? Insanity

I’ll argue proof wasn’t even typical. Pulling the announcement at the end of their concert was insane and the hype was almost palpable
