At least in the west it’s one of the things celebrities want to enjoy at least once. Being with a lot of attractive and famous people in an almost anything goes night, kind of like when teens look forward to their first house party so they can experience their first make out session or play spin the bottle. In current times freak off parties have a certain negative connotations because of alleged crimes that may happen in them, but it all depends on the crowd. A polka freak off party is likely to be different from a hip hop freak off party. As for kpop, do you think it’s something idols do? Obviously they would never advertise it, just as any other private events they attend. I imagine it does happen, but probably in private club rooms or when they go overseas.
Do you think k idols have their own freak off parties?

I kind of would think that...
But then I'm reminded of the stats for STI rates in Retirement Villages, Retirement Homes and Nursing Homes and remember that every demographic can get their freak on behind closed doors. Oh and grindr usage soaring in cities when the Republican National Conventions happen.

Sasaengs also want the exclusively of knowing something no one else knows. Your much closer to your idol if you are the only one who knows who they are dating or which nail salon they go to. If more people find out they aren't special anymore.

Diddy's well-known parties where he invited tons of A-list celebrities are completely different from the nefarious gatherings that are the focus of ongoing investigation. People seem to be conflating the two.
He likely kept his criminal, depraved side away from his peers, which is why he hosted the "freak-offs" in a very discrete manner at hotels, not at his own properties.
His celebrity-filled parties were probably wild, but I'm sure that, usually, nothing criminal would happen aside from maybe drug use. These are NOT the "freak-offs" that Diddy facilitated behind closed doors.
