I don't take issue with our users' opinions about this song, but I think some K-pop YouTubers are trying too hard to capitalize on negativity with video titles like:

"let's talk about MEOVV: how NOT to debut a group"

"The Problem with MEOVV"

"MEOVV's 'Meow' was everything nobody wanted it to be."

It's exaggerative and overly cynical. Even if they don't like it, the song isn't that bad. I think the song is a fine balance of playing it safe and being experimental. Obviously, there are people who love this song, and this is what the debut is for. That's success in my book.

Many K-pop fans overvalue the importance of a debut.

The song is a bop for me now even though I was underwhelmed by it initially.
