The 3rd Generation's accomplishment was so great it will probably enter world history books.
BTS, BlackPink, Twice, EXO, and a certain figure who freeloaded to it despite of not being part of 3rd Gen and not being part of KPop will probably enter world history books.
The 1st Gen and the 3rd Gen of KPop had full scale concerts at the Olympic Stadium of Seoul.
No 2nd Gen groups did full scale concerts at the same location. JYJ did two one -day concerts there, and Big Bang and GDragon had one day concerts at the Soccer Stadium, but no groups actually did full concerts, which is a 2 day event with more than 3/4 of the stadium full, over 45,000/day, from the 2nd Generation. Only the freeloader I mentioned above, who is NOT part of KPop and did NOT sing any KPop songs until late in the figure's career, managed it.
However, the 2nd Gen did go around the world a lot, although the first steps were often baby steps.
It seems other than IVE, the activities of 4th Gen are increasingly focused upon Japan, plus the countries of members if the act has foreign members.
As KPop become more corporated, less risk is taken and the bean counters of the companies only tend to go to places which are more likely to yield immediate profits.
Which not only makes KPop more bland, but also it makes the 4th gen acts put too much efforts in Japan.
Which might be why 4th Gen is still very far from reaching the heights of even the 2nd Gen.
Acts which did 2 day concerts at the Olympic Stadium or Soccer Stadium in Seoul
1st Gen - H.O.T. (a day concert in 1990s - the 2 days concerts was a reunion in 2017, but..) , Shinhwa, Psy, 3 acts
3rd Gen - EXO, BTS, NCT Dream, NCT 127 at Olympic Stadium, Seventeen at the Soccer stadium - 5 acts
after all these, there was only one 2nd Gen acts who did such concert
2nd Gen - (name undisclosed because she freeloaded into Kpop) - 1 act
and, unfortunately, among 4th Gen there seems to be no act who will follow these examples.
They do go to Tokyo Dome often but now Tokyo Dome is not what it used to be.
And 2nd Gen also went to Tokyo Dome frequently.
