Most streamed bands of all time on spotify and youtube

I'd like to see the numbers separated out between YouTube and Spotify. I suspect that K-pop streams would be biased toward the former.

Not for BTS, they have more Spotify streams than youtube, but yes for other Kpop acts it is absolutely skewed towards YT!!!
This is their Spotify stream till May 2024

BTS are nearly on par on both platforms...Spotify slightly edging YT. A true streaming behemoth in the truest sense on both the biggest streaming platforms!!!BTS are top 10 most streamed in Spotify history and top 5 most streamed in YT history.
They are one of the most legendary acts in music for a reason...everything BTS adds up - streams across platforms, sales, tour and social media engagement!!!

I agree with you and I don't want to take away from Bts but I don't think people had such an easy way and so many ways to listen to music in the past as of now. I didn't see statistics about this but when I was younger (and I am not that old yet) we only had the TV, radio and CD-players. We did not have internet connection on our phones (or it was so expensive that my parents were literally treatening us to not use it ever) and my first phones had the memory for two or three, later for ten or so downloaded songs.

What is flopwice doing up there

I find this list surprisingly satisfying. I did not think of some of them as most listened to but all of the names make sense.

Correct for BP and Twice, and I'd assume majority of older kpop groups, it is with EXO.
It's not for BTS, and also not for 4th gen acts like Stray Kids (not far off from each other but still more on Spotify), IVE, NewJeans, Enhypen, Itzy, LSFM.. (BabyMonster is an exception here so far).
Kpop's (and seems music videos in general) popularity on Youtube has had died a bit since 3rd gen, but kpop as a whole still grew globally with Spotify, so I think that's why we are seeing more 4th gen acts doing better on Spotify than YT.

Yeah I noticed too that Youtube views went down for everyone. Though I am curious if it's definite (like fandoms left youtube) or with a Bp slash Bts comeback views will go up again.

I think it might just be a general thing. It's the case for western acts too. People are just less interested in music videos nowadays it seems
