When I think about the sheer amount of solar systems out there, I think yes, absolutely, there has got to be alien life.
But when you add to that the conditions of what makes a planet habitable, the possibilities do shrink considerably. And that just means life is possible, not that it actually formed. The Universe is still relatively young, so life can still form elsewhere, but it does become increasingly unlikely as the Universe expands (talking about millions of years here though).
Plus, the exoplanets we can "see" (we can't really see them, most detection techniques are indirect!), are a lot older than us, so we don't know what they look like right now. Life could have formed and exist at the same time as us, but we can't see it yet!
So, I am not sure, they exist in the snapshots of planets we can currently see, because the planets are so far away, that they are a lot older than us. And because we can often only confirm a planet exists theoretically.
In short, it's a yes, but unsure if we can find them with our current technology. -

I believe there is other life in the universe, especially considering life can exist in so many forms.
Now that I think about it, the likelihood of intelligent advanced civilizations is not zero. The likelihood humans and those aliens encounter each other is another story.
