Can’t believe lisa could pull 30 million views on a channel under 1 million subs before release

I’ll wait for the youtube chart results but I do agree. I think current kpop groups simply don’t have as much relevance as they think they do.

Kpop is ranked 7th in terms of global genre popularity. Pretty amazing that it got that high tbh, given how Korean is spoken by like 58 people outside of Korea.

But still it's only 7th behind all the other orders of magnitude more popular genres like hip hop, RnB, rap, straight pop, etc. It's a niche genre like jazz, metal, etc.

Given all this, 30 million is amazing. Hell what BP and BTS accomplished at their peaks was an effing miracle.

The likes are insane

The views were expected, but I'm surprised with the likes and comments like +30M views, +3M likes, +300k comments.. the engagement is real!

It matters whether she'll remain popular globally or in only limited areas.

Her numbers are good, but why are we talking about subs? Subs has nothing to do with the view count. You don't need to be a subscriber to watch a MV.

Also, don't forget, she lost half of her 24h views since she left YG. That's not a good stat, and we don't know yet if she paid for ads or not.

youtube views is irrelevant these days (because of billboard's reformulation). kpop stans have all shifted to premium streaming services (spotify, apple music, etc.) for charting.

For Billboard Hot 100 I guess but Youtube streams still counts toward Billboard Global 200 charts.

youtube views still count, but their weight in the formula is miniscule now. I guess for those who can't afford premium services, youtube views is all they can contribute.
