Back then Hybe was trying to go public, they wanted as many groups as possible to show investors they weren't relying on BTS (I remember there were so many companies Hybe was rumoured to be buying back then for this exact reason). Pledis has a history of hit GG's, Hybe thought they could make fromis huge quickly with Hybe money.
