Its a minor surgery. Nothing serious.

This is a pretty serious disorder. My grandfather died of collapsed lungs in his 40s. The first time happened when he was young, and then in the second case, he died in his 40s. But now that treatment methods have developed, they can probably find the source that causes this and treat it. Get well soon Winter. I hope she recovers and doesn't get caught again.

Not necessarily, although it could depend on the severity & details of her surgery, which we don't currently know. If they had to remove any portions of her lung, that would obviously affect her lung capacity, but not necessarily her voice. She'd just have to alter her singing technique if she was taking in too much air before. If she had to be intubated, that could damage her throat, but likely only temporarily.

We don't even know the details of her surgery. Several treatment options (of differing severities) are available depending on the severity of the condition, although if she only had a very minor case, surgery wouldn't have even been necessary, so...
