Why is the term "it girl" thrown about so much?

No idea. The first time I heard about it was in this forum.

The public is really interested in girl idols so there is diff levels of it girlness and there is room to debate..

Example: arin, miyeon and Naeun before her scandal

OH MY GIRL Arin is also a current "IT GIRL" Though

she just snatched a Soju CF too

It girls are basically trendy female idols, kpop stans seem to think the term is the same as the "nation first love" that Suzy/ Yoona/ Park Bo Young had. There are plenty influential female celebrities who can be called it girls, some are more influential than others.

I can never understand the term it girl or it something
