Which debut was bigger: Itzy with Dalla Dalla or NewJeans with Attention

The NewJeans debut is easily the biggest debut by a girl group in K-Pop history.

Don't do this to Itzy. They're not even top 3.

A song (Hype Boy) from NewJeans' debut album (2022) was the second biggest song on both Circle and Melon in 2023, and the only reason it wasn't the top song is because it was blocked by another song (Ditto) from their debut year LOL

I wasn't paying much attention to Kpop when New Jeans debuted, so didn't really see the effect.

Dalla Dalla was huge though.

Yep. It had the record for most days in the Melon top 100 until it lost it to Love Dive, a song that also released during their rookie year.

Whistle was a hit but its success is a little overstated. I made a whole write up about 2016 girl group music I can find and repost if needed

It was iconic but not the biggest. SNSD was still in the shadow of Wonder Girls until WG left for the states and they dropped Gee. So it took them two years to become the undisputed top.

NewJeans on the other hand debuted and have overshadowed their peers ever since, and have been the undisputed top since their debut.
