Kpop in general isn't nearly as big as it was 10-13 and probably never will be again. They had a trend going, rn it's a niche. So imo, it's really impressive that BTS, IZ*ONE and TWICE are seeing so much success with a lot less to work from.

And the success that BoA, TVXQ, SJJD and Kara received is super impressive as well

BTS has already broken TVXQ album sales records. They have a massive GP hit with Dynamite, as opposed to TVXQ who never had a hit and were only fandom based. It can be argued that BTS has already surpassed TVXQ.

They still havent broken SNSD and Kara records, but it could only be a question of time.

Japanese women who are tryna get plastic surgery to look like Tzuyu, twice who get invited to exclusive year end Japenese shows with tvxq, twice that just broke a 10 year sales record and BTS that broke tvxq's sales record:

2nd gen and especially boa really did a lot in Japan but there's no point tryna use them to discredit 3rd gen groups.
