Wait a minute, have only three Kpop boy groups ever achieved a PAK in history?

I found this post and was literally shocked that only BigBang, BTS, and iKON have ever achieved a Perfect All-Kill. It's surprising that when we thought boy groups were dying in Korea, it turns out they might already like that since the beginning, and it's only getting worse by time.

It's interesting that only three kpop boy groups in history have been able to unite the general public across all charts with their songs. Will we ever witness a new boy group joining this list soon?

But you know what, even Kids Laroi and Justin Bieber able to achieve a PAK lol, it's quite funny to me.

  • PAKs are really not the be all end all. Because many factors are at play like timing during an empty house or extreme virality amongst tough competition. It is not the norm for many boy groups to ever experience that and have the advantage, especially with male audiences that primarily only listen to girl groups or female solos. (They have a selective bias against boy groups) In the long run, instead of the bolded, I think how songs play out after those two conditions is no longer a factor defines a real hit to me. Because some songs that had PAKs fall off so fast and make no noise in later years (some even in the same year it was released)

So it's pretty to have on paper but if outside that year no one talks about it or it only peaked during it's height and left all charts, that isn't impressive to me. Longevity solidifies why a song deserved PAKs in the first place.

  • PAKs and peaks don’t mean anything. As someone already said timing and virality are big factors. The real deal is longevity. The biggest song in melon didn’t even get a number 1.

Take for example Love Scenario or Any Song, those songs got PAKs in an empty house and also went viral with kids/TikTok Korea but by the end of the same respective year, many people either forgot it (and only bring it up for SOTY fan wars because kpop stans live for the drama) or barely talked about in many spaces of non-fans voluntarily. And of course, both songs fell off after their release year completely.
