it's more like the dont think about the Romanization . coz in korean it means kids/children "아이들" iirc.
Aren't fandom names are made using their language, so that's why it make sense to them? When of course translating it into English, it becomes weird. Im sure there are alot of western words that could be wrongly, amusedly, or parody- translated into Korean too, or any other language in fact.

Reminds me of how a group that I used to like a lot had a fandom name which was "dolphin", but in Korean "고래" is used like some cute term of endearment or something.
