Back in days playing video games or watching anime was similar taboo than kpop right now. People used to call you nerd if you played video games or liked anime.

Video games have really toxic culture, especially pvp games. In Korea it is probably even worse than west. There is good document about it.

Trying so hard to conform and sound edgy by hating, its giving teenage - hope they grow and learn to say a simple no if they don't enjoy similar hobbies instead of being so nasty.

Oftentimes these gamers are teenage boys who will say anything for fellow male validation, my brother was the same (thank god he wasn't as bad as some of the ppl in the screenshots) but his mentality changed a lot once he grew up, now he doesn't particularly care.
