From 7:24 to 11:00, this guy, who has one of the best technical music channels on YT, summarizes literally everything i've complained about when it comes to pop and Kpop. Particularly from about 8:52 onwards.
The whole video is a goldmine, from the song choice from legend Adele to this guy's hilarious reactions and his on point commentary.
Let's all hope his commentary starts to sink in to the Gen Zers who are now the main demographic targeted by music labels. MAKE POP MUSIC GREAT AGAIN.
Kpop is still way ahead of the curve compared to our shit music in the US, so much more musicality and thought put into Kpop, but even Kpop still has TONS that it can improve on. Less focus on "krazy koreo" and more focus on choreo that allows idols to actually sing with support instead of having to shout their lyrics. Instead of spending 100k, 200k, 300k, on repetitive green screen MVs, how about sparing half of that to hire bands during promotions so that our idol stages dont sound like karaoke night at the local bars with their canned music.
But to do stuff like this, we need a sea change in the general audience and among Kpop fans. We need to change our tastes in music to recapture the glory years of our past.
