When did the company flip flop so much on the girls? Why give one the effort and promotion they deserve, only to cart 3 off to Japan for a b-tier release to cash grab from the showcases and a few album sales? Even stuffed their release right behind Jihyo's knowing it wuld get overshadowed by a proper Korean release that will likely get a bunch of promo's.

  • You already know the answers to this question, you're just playing dumb. But I'll humor you and play along anyway.

    1. Misamo is a Japanese release. J-a-p-a-n-e-s-e. Kpop companies NEVER promote Japanese releases as much as Korean ones and they NEVER have.

    2. Favoritism. Nayeon is the golden child in JYP's eyes. I have no idea why, but she is. Chances are even Jihyo's Korean solo will not receive the same amount of promo as Nayeon's, because she's not the favorite. Anyone who's honest with themselves about the political state of Twice already knows this and doesn't need it explained to them.

Explain why it being Japanese makes it impossible for JYPE to invest in several high budget performance videos? Or why they didn't put out a cheering guide when Misamo actually has live shows coming up for their fan meet? Why does being a Japanese song prevent those things when all are under the control of JYPE? Why does it being a Japan release stop us from getting a Studio Choom video when groups like JO1 have been on it?

Why other than company care or lack of support are we missing those thing, quick answer without saying Japanese? And if it is only that why is this major debut being treated as a b-tier run of the mill Japan single to be carted off and forgotten in a day? Do you think that fair?

I think you're completely ignoring everything I said. I won't repeat myself. You can either accept how Kpop works or you can choose not to, but there's no point in pretending a relative lack of promotion for a Japanese release is unusual. It isn't, it never has been, and it likely never will be.

  • Was one not before the renewal and one after :pepe-narrow-eyes:

Yes, well sort of. It's very unlikely the renewal took place after Pop. The announcement was officially after Pop, around 2 weeks after. But media reported they had all renewed in the weeks and months prior.

  • There's plenty of content.... it's just not free.

Because, you know, Japanese fans take their fandom seriously enough to pay for behind-the-scenes content and making-of-MVs. (Also because the fandom culture there is still more oriented towards collectables like CDs and DVDs rather than free online social media.)

I am constantly amused at how people think social media content is a free public good that artists and fans have a right to demand, rather than a commercial good that costs money to create and can be sold.

Also, please note that the album release is on 26 July. Japanese promotions are timed more for album release dates, rather than title track release dates. The title track music video is a vehicle to promote sales of the *album*, not an independent product in and of itself.
